Writing an e-mail is a great way to keep in touch with a friend or family! Here we show you the parts of an e-mail to help you get started:

Salutation

A. Salutation: Always start and end your e-mail with a salutation. Start e-mails with words like “Hi” or “Dear”

B. Body: This is where you tell the other person what you want to say.

C. Body: If you start talking about something new, start a new paragraph.

D. Closing: At the end your e-mails close with words like “Thank You” or “Regards”

E. Postscript: If you forgot to mention something, you can add it to the end!

Now that you have looked at the parts of an e-mail, it’s time to write your own! Head over to KidsEmail and register for an e-mail account and start practicing sending e-mails to your family and friends! They will be excited to get a message from you!
